Stepping through the Web Site Process: How does a BCSdesign Setup work? This page runs through our setup and design process step by step to give you an idea of how our websites are created. We also include some additional information about promotion here. Save Time: Our On-Line Quote Form runs through all these processes for you and gets your site started as quickly as possible. 1. Choose a Domain Name: The first step in getting your site on-line is selecting an available domain name. Here's a page where you can Check Availability. Once you have found an available domain you can register it from the mentioned page, or you can order it at the same time as you order your hosting. 2. Order Hosting: If you order one of our Business Card Websites, please skip this section. Once you have chosen an available domain name you'll need to order web space for your pages. You can go to our Hosting Site and select the amount of space you need. Business Card Websites are set up with the "Value Website" package. This package can be updated at a later time. 3. Web Pages: Okay, so now you have a domain and some webspace, now you need some webpages. You can learn HTML coding, and get some software and set up your own web pages. Or you can order one of our Business Card Websites and BCSdesign will add your text and images to the pages and upload it for you. Or, if you need a custom website specifically tailored to your product or service you can fill out our On-Line Quote Form. 4. Gathering Info & First Draft: For Custom Designs: At this stage BCSdesign will send our client, (you) a First Draft for your approval. This is not a working website but a picture of the intended web site. Once the draft is approved, we'll start finishing the pages and adding the code. or Business Card Sites: Once you have selected a Business Card, you'll be directed to a form to fill out so BCSdesign can add your text and pictures and products to your webpages. 5. Setup & Testing: Once you have selected either a Pre-Made website or a custom design and the pages are finished, BCS will start uploading them onto your server and making sure all the forms and e-mail work correctly. We'll be in contact with you at this time to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. Shopping Cart Setup: If you are selling products on-line you'll need a shopping cart. BCSdesign can set up any type you would like but we recommend using one of these three. That's an Order: This cart is free and very easy to set up. It is limited to 25 products max, and can have only a single page. When an order is placed you are e-mailed with the credit card info. Miva Order: $4.00 per month. This cart can have only a single page but you can add unlimited products. Miva Lite: $15.00 per month plus our hourly rate of $55.00 to set it up. This is a powerful multi-page unlimited shopping cart. It includes: Product Maintenance, Category Management, Order Processing Using SS and Credit Card Processing Using SSL. You will need to be involved to set this cart up. 6. Search Engine Promotion: Once your webpages are all set up BCSdesign will submit it to 800+ search engines. This list does not include Yahoo!
